Further to our preliminary call for participation in the NIJL/EAJRS kuzushiji workshop scheduled for March 2014, herewith are further details of the workshop.
The goal of the workshop is to gain practical knowledge of, and first-hand experience in the reading of hiragana-majiribun of the Edo period, at intermediate level.

前半は今西祐一郎教授の指導のもとに江戸時代の書籍目録など版本を教材にしてひらがな交じり文の読解訓練を行う。使用教材として、1600年代後半の寛文年間から出版されてきた版本書籍目録を取り上げ、その総合的な紹介・解説を受けた後、目録中のくずし字で書かれた和書の部分の読解訓練を行う。また天保7年に出版された、「近代名家著述目録」という著者別目録の、序文と跋文も読む予定。
後半は渡辺浩一教授担当で、江戸期の高札(基本型として5例取り上げる。ひらがな交じり文)の紹介・解説を受け、読解訓練を行う。また宗門人別帳(住民基本台帳及び戸籍としての役割を担う基礎情報)を読む。
Participation in the workshop is free, but registration is required. The number of participants will be limited to a maximum of 20.
