2021 marks the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the conclusion of a treaty of amity, commerce and navigation between Prussia and Japan in 1861. Due to the pandemic the jubilee of “160 years of German-Japanese relations” could neither attract much attention nor be celebrated accordingly. Nevertheless the Specialised Information Service Asia (FID Asien) of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin-PK (SBB-PK) would like to present at the end of the anniversary year its virtual contribution by the release of two thematic portals on its platform CrossAsia (crossasia.org).
The National Library of Finland has two Japanese special collections. In addition, the library’s basic collections also have Japanese books or books in Japanese. Until now, the Japonica collection and the Buddhist collection have only been catalogued on paper, and it has not been possible to access them in electronic search services.
Dear Colleagues,

The NDL Digital Collections (https://dl.ndl.go.jp/?__lang=en) enables users to search and view a variety of resources collected and stored by the National Diet Library of Japan.
Now, a questionnaire for users of the NDL Digital Collections has started. Please help us improve the usability of this collection by answering this questionnaire.
Dear Colleagues,
We need your help! The National Library of Australia decided drastically to reduce its users' access to material on Asia and the wider world, by terminating collecting of material published outside Australia on Japan, Korea (North and South) and Mainland Southeast Asia and potentially also slashing collecting of material on China, Indonesia and the Pacific. From now on, the focus will be on material by Australia about Australians - too bad about the rest of world (see attached).
The National Diet Library, Japan, released two new e-learning courses with English subtitles.
